The salaries of Bachelors of Business Administration increased last year

7.3.2024

In 2023, the salaries of Bachelors of Business Administration increased more than normal, as did those of other employees. The average salary increased by roughly 5.7% from the previous year. The higher general increases than before, which included both percentage or euro increases as well as one-off items, were a main factor in this. According to our member survey, the average salary of BBAs is EUR 4,347 per month.

In addition to the general increases negotiated by the unions, the salaries of BBAs were increased by way of local or company-specific increases, personal increases and new job descriptions.  Part of the long-term positive salary development is also explained by the strengthened labor market position of BBAs. An increasing number of BBAs are working in expert positions, and the number of BBAs working in clerical positions is steadily decreasing.

Compared to the previous year, the confidence of BBAs has plummeted both in the situation of the employer and in the situation of their own employment relationship. BBAs view their own situation as more stable than the situation of the workplace. There were clear differences between sectors with regard to outlooks for the future. Persons working in the accounting and financial sectors and the public sector had the highest confidence in their employer’s situation. In turn, industry and the trade sector had the lowest confidence.
